We have no idea about the devastation in European countries during and after the War, as well the hardship caused by Stalin's new regime. If anyone feels Communists had it easy watch any movie about Russia, Stalin and the hardships of the people.
I actually thought it was a cookbook; the chapters are like short stories, with Eva (the main character) only a fleeting part of a bunch of deplorable people. The foodie part was pretty silly, but funny.
I had just read "On The Plain of Snakes", so the story rings true. I still found it difficult to read. Maybe the fact that Mexico is still a third world country catering to the drug addicted North. Question : Why is Mexican Government so corrupt?
