Reimagining of Batman's first year. Returning to Gotham City after twelve years abroad, millionaire Bruce Wayne plans to avenge his parents' murders by taking on the city's criminal underworld disguised as a creature of the night. Meanwhile, police lieutenant James Gordon has just joined the Gotham force. Gordon, faced with his wife's first pregnancy as well as rampant police corruption, must now also come to terms with Batman.
