When it comes to Anne Rule's true-account book "The Stranger Beside Me" - Fact is, most definitely, stranger, and, yes, more terrifying, than fiction. "The Stranger Beside Me" is a very compelling and well-written autobiographical and biographical true-crime book (updated in 2009) about the sadistic serial killer Ted Bundy, whom Rule had actually met personally before and after his arrest for a series of truly hideous and brutal murders. Ted Bundy was an American serial killer, kidnapper, rapist, and necrophile who assaulted and murdered numerous young women and girls during the 1970s and possibly earlier. Shortly before his execution in 1989 (at age 42), after more than a decade of denials, Bundy confessed to 30 homicides committed in seven states between 1974 and 1978. The true victim count remains unknown, and could be much higher *Note* - On July 26, 2015 - Author, Anne Rule (83 at the time) died as a result of congestive heart failure.
