This charmless rom-com is a cringe-inducing disaster alright.
As wan and interchangebale as the young actors were, it's actually more painful whenever the movie cut to Diane Keaton and Jeremy Irons. Probably because it's so sad watching two of the all-time greats stuck in such a lousy movie.
Director Dennis Dugan has helmed some decent Adam Sandler flicks like 1999's "Big Daddy," but this was as irredeemably awful as some of his lesser credits (e.g., "Problem Child").
