Enjoyable and entertaining romantic drama with likeable characters/actors and meaningful life lessons. A very good watch that could have been great because the "secret" should have logically come out very early in the film but not. What is the man thinking!!!

This is a remarkable achievement in that it threads the needle between being a movie about faith without being about religion...AT ALL! There is only one mention of "god" in the entire movie and that's within a secular construct. Good acting and three dimensional characters, but no new ground with the story, which is a bit contrived.

As a person who enjoys movies moreso than books because of "How" they are done, I watched this one even though I had and still have no intentions of going down the Rabbit Hole of reading the book.
Movie was OK however it did not have enough substance for me, however still obviously enough for me to write this comment. Depending of course of what a person really knows of the truth, there was a couple of scenes that stood out however the underlying message did not fully click until after the movie ended when I literally had to dig a little deeper to see that message. Interesting "Lion's Gate" movie - different take on the metaphors however I was able to grasp what I needed to grasp - Shhhhhhhhhh as that is a secret that is revealed for all who chooses not to go down rabbit holes but seeks only the truth of the Gospel in the Bible for life. PS. Great helper/fixer Bray way.

Predictable and sappy, but we still enjoyed this feel-good family-oriented movie. Stars a very likeable Josh Lucas and Katie Holmes. Good performances by the rest of the cast as well. Worth watching, especially as a family movie night entry.

A feel good movie - love Josh Lucas - as noted below - think Nicolas Sparks & Hallmark. I really enjoyed this and was skeptical going in (I'm not a Hallmark fan).

Not strictly faith-based, but it is positive and uplifting. Think Nicholas Sparks meets Hallmark.

We enjoyed this movie. ( My best part was the love interests kissing in front of a Waffle House-what a way to build a wonderful relationship.)

I really liked it. Thought it would be Hallmark type, but it is so much better than that.

Oh, my God, Mom! You're, like, the worst driver in the whole world.
-That's because no one else in the entire world has you as a passenger.

You put the chicken in the microwave still in the bag, and now it's all melted.
-Yes, I sure did.

A magnet. Which attracts things with a force that you cannot see, but is definitely real. Your thoughts work the same way. The more you think about something, the more you draw it to you.
-Okay. So, this is me thinking about pizza.
===
I swear. My whole life is like that gut feeling that something really bad is going to happen, and then... it does.
===
Why are you helping me?
-Because I can.
Okay. You're hired. But only 'cause you brought me coffee.

What's a gazebo do?
-Just looks pretty. It's where old people sit and complain about their knees and stuff.

He sounds like a kind man who recognizes a good person.

I'm open to the possibility that whatever happens, even the bad stuff, can lead to better things.
-Not in this house.
===
Oh, that's Bray. He's gonna fix the roof. Just like he fixed Mom's bumper.

Not everyone is a serial killer, Bobby. I mean, he's a college professor for goodness sake.
-Well, you can't be too careful these days.
The only thing of value in that house are the kids, and they're coming with us. So, I'm just gonna believe that he's not gonna screw us and he's gonna do the best job he can.

I just don't see the point in forcing something that neither one of us needs or wants.

How do you know Miranda?
-Oh, well, I don't, really.
Why are you fixing her roof?
-That's a very good question.

Well, things can change if you want them to.

It's just that sometimes the best thing to do is... wait till everything becomes clear.

Mom, he's everything he said he was. He just couldn't get out of his own way is all. And the sibs and I were talking. You were so much more relaxed with him.

What? You were.
-Honey... I barely know the man.
But you liked what you knew.
