A space princess on the run and a notorious outlaw soldier become unlikely allies in this imaginative, sexy space opera adventure-the first in an exciting science fiction trilogy. In the far distant future, the universe is officially ruled by the Royal Consortium, but the High Councillors, the heads of the three High Houses, wield the true power. As the fifth of six children, Ada von Hasenberg has no authority; her only value to her High House is as a pawn in a political marriage. When her father arranges for her to wed a noble from House Rockhurst, a man she neither wants nor loves, Ada seizes control of her own destiny. The spirited princess flees before the betrothal ceremony and disappears among the stars. Ada eluded her father's forces for two years, but now her luck has run out. To ensure she cannot escape again, the fiery princess is thrown into a prison cell with Marcus Loch. Known as the Devil of Fornax Zero, Loch is rumored to have killed his entire chain of command during the Fornax Rebellion, and the Consortium wants his head. When the ship returning them to Earth is attacked by a battle cruiser from rival House Rockhurst, Ada realizes that if her jilted fiancé captures her, she'll become a political prisoner and a liability to her House. Her only hope is to strike a deal with the dangerous fugitive: a fortune if he helps her escape. But when you make a deal with an irresistibly attractive Devil, you may lose more than you bargained for . . .

Polaris Rising a fun and romantic sci-fi adventure! The first of a series that follows the sisters of House Von Hasenburg as they navigate family drama and politics in space with help from some friends along the way.

A science fiction adventure with plenty of action and more romance than I expected. The author has created a heroine that is a perfect blend of strength, confidence and vulnerable.

This space opera adventure is an absolute gem. I loved it! Fast-paced action, intergalactic political intrigue combined with a touch of steamy romance makes this a perfect gateway for someone interested in trying Science Fiction or a breezy read for a seasoned enthusiast. While Mihalik offers some fantastic world-building, this book doesn't get weighed down by techno-jargon and begs you to read at lightning speed until reaching its satisfying conclusion and new beginning of The Consortium Rebellion series.

Absolutely devoured this book even though it isn't what I'd usually read.

The world building was very good.. there was enough detail to feel real and I thought it has been well through out. The main character Ada is very likeable and I enjoyed reading about her adventures. The romance felt slightly rushed but wow... steamy! This is NOT a book for children! I felt that the plot was a little repetitive especially toward the end but even so, an easy and enjoyable read. Looking forward to bingeing on the next of this series.

I love Science Fiction with a good story and strong female characters. This book was a quick read that fit both those traits plus a bit a spice. I typically do not read romance, but this book provided just enough but not over the top like many other romance novels. I wish there was another book featuring the continuation of Loch and Ada's adventures and the war between the Houses. I particularly liked that the author provided the political intrigue between the Houses, it gave this Science Fiction Romance story more depth then I expected. I encourage the author to keep writing and I look forward to reading more.

Scifi-romance is always a treat when done right. I love that our damsel in distress can sort herself out most of the time. For lovers of Linnea Sinclair and Susan Grant.

A nice space opera porno.

It's a well-written piece of space opera, with some really novel plot elements amid the usual cliches. It's also absurdly sex-focused--it devolves into smut every couple pages. I like smut, but still found the filth in Polaris Rising repetitive and grating.

She's a good author, and it's a fun read! It just could be so much better if the porn were a little more spaced out.

This book was great fun, reminiscent of the Vatta's War series, but definitely steamier. I'd love another book featuring the continuation of Loch and Ada's (mis)adventures and their impact on the setting's future circumstances. If I'm lucky, they'll feature peripherally in the second, upcoming novel, Aurora Blaze. (I also expect a third installment will feature Rhys and Veronica.) I also want to know who's the previous paramour who so pained Loch's heart. And while I'm at it, I'm curious to see if Albrecht, Ada's father, had hidden depths; did his raise his children to purposely antagonize them and oppose him, in an effort to create a solidified squad of siblings? (Probably not, but I like layered antagonists.)

A really interesting sci-fi, action, romance novel. The author creates a fascinating world, of which readers are totally immersed in. I'm quite invested in finding the history of Ada's sister. Perfect for fans who like their books action packed.

This book is so much fun! The story reads like your favorite action/adventure movie. I can't wait to check out the rest of the series!
