Contains a tiny spoiler...

Totally hooked on the Outlander series.
The only negative I can really say about the series as a whole is this:
Outlander is very visually graphic with it's fighting/battle/jail/sexual scenes. Trigger warning, the series does include rape. If any of this makes you uncomfortable either keep the remote handy for fast forwarding or just don't watch he series. I am generally pretty conservative in what I watch, but the series really is great due to both great scripts and the actors. I personally just keep the remote handy for skipping scenes that make me uncomfortable. Another reason I love this series (aside from the gorgeous men in kilts and the great actors) is the ability to keep me guessing. Most movies and series I can figure out the plot rather quickly which gets so boring, but Outlander has the opportunity to toss curve-balls at us and does so many times.

I have had it recommended that I make time to read the books as it is said to be even better than the series, hard to imagine but someday I will read it.

As far as season 3 goes, it wasn't my favorite, but I still love the series and am waiting for my turn to pick up season 4 from the library. The early years of Claire and Frank, and then Bree were a bit confusing or even mildly boring at times but I've heard there is far more content in the books and they did what they could with the shows story line and time constraints per episode and per season to keep it moving forward. But honestly I don't watch the show to see Frank and "curent day" anyway, I want to be swept away to the past.

Spoiler Alert!!!
As for this season. I was so happy to see the story line return to the past. Jamie and Claire are amazing together! Since I have yet to read the books this season contained a couple shockers in it that I did not anticipate. The final episode of this season for example left me as surprised as Claire was in shock.
I also enjoyed taking the time to watch the edited and/or deleted scenes, which for me I often find would have been great in the final cut.

I am completely addicted to this binge-worthy series.

Although I am a historical fiction buff, I always thought time travel was a little bit far fetched, so I never picked up this series of books. However, while browsing through Netflix I thought, OK, I'll give it a try. OMG. So totally hooked on this! My favorite season so far was Season One. I thought they drug France on too long. I do get a little confused when they jump around from episode to episode. I thought I missed an entire episode when I was watching in Season 3 and forgot it had been covered in Season 2. At first I was very put off by the sex scenes, and my husband has grown tired of them. But I do think it is a LARGE part of the bond that Jamie and Claire have together. I agree with someone else's statement that it seems like there is sex, and then catastrophe, sex and then catastrophe. Who could live like that?
I have previewed Season 4 but not seen it yet. (I'm still 159th in line) but I am curious to understand why people think the actress for Brianna is so bad. She gets pretty bad reviews all around. Not sure this series will make it to the end of Gabaldon's books, but I am enjoying it as far as it goes. (I DO like happy endings though, so just saying........)

I sort of got lost in the previews of this, with thinking I had skipped a whole set of the series. they would keep showing "previously on Outlander", and seeing things that I don't recall seeing at all in the DVD set. Maybe it is just me, but it seemed to go from Bree as a young girl, to all of a sudden Roger is in her life and they are checking on the history of Jamie. I kept playing the disks looking for a story I had missed, but unless you have read the entire series, there are many things in this that would not make much sense to you. I know it is a huge amount of material to read, and they can't go over every detail like the books do, but for some reason, if felt as if a whole chunk of the story was only shown in little bits of "previously" as a sort of catch up. Could just be me I guess. Not as good as the first two seasons, that is for sure, but will look forward to the fourth season to see if it gets more interesting. This season seems like a bunch of fill.

It seems to me that the American producers have taken over in series four with Bree being totally miscast. Wooden and expressionless and mumbling.

Oct 2018.....have only watched the first 3 discs. Enjoying them as usual....I read and re-read the books many times, and have waited many years to see it made into a series.....that said, I have also just finished watching the first 3 seasons of "Poldark" and I have to say I enjoyed that as much, if not more.....no full nudity, (well maybe some, don't quote me on that), in that one, and just as enjoyable....way back when, I used to watch the old version of Poldark, and I must say it is much nicer not to have to be home at a certain time, on a certain day to catch the next episode...but binge watching can be a problem also! Anyway, if you like this series, give Poldark a shot, see which one you like better. I was very pleased with the new actors in the new Poldark, can't say the same for the casting in Outlander, too many discrepancies from the book.....but then I haven't read the Poldark books yet, so maybe that is "my" problem! Will have to check them out before I croak!

I didn’t enjoy this seasona s much as the past ones. Maybe it’s just getting old and harder to keep the story fresh. I am growing weary of the only story lines being either absolute disaster or sex. I am not a prude, but one whole hour of this was almost all scenes of Claire and Jamie reuniting and having sex. Please.
Iwill watch the next season and hope that because it’s Jameiand Claire (and whoever else) in the American Colonies, the writers will find it easier to write more diverse and interesting story lines.

terrible slow turgid soap opera where they all sit around wringing their hands and moping. after seasons 1 & 2 this is a big flop

I quit reading the books after this volume (#3 - I think). I found it rather racist, her treatment of the West Indians and of the Chinese character. But I found the televised versions of the books more enjoyable. Still seems to resort to sex whenever possible and not always to any interesting intermission or conclusion. Might read the next book now (do they all have to be 1,000 pages long????) since I know they are continuing with the film versions.

I enjoyed this season, season two was the best so far, but this one is very good. It explained Claire's and Jamie's time apart. Claire in modern Boston and Jamie in prison the first part, then her time travel back to Jamie. The adventures in Jamaica were the best part for me.
