Bianca St. Ives was recently put through the wringer, but she came out the same way she always does--the way her father trained her to--hungry for a fight. Still navigating the fallout from a shocking revelation that's left a network of assassins' crosshairs trained on her, Bianca's ready to take fate into her own hands. It's kill or be killed, and she's got her finger flush against the trigger. But as Bianca races to outmaneuver her tireless pursuers, her father loops her in on a job that might just do the trick: recover King Priam's Treasure, a collection of heavily guarded, priceless artifacts stolen by the Russians during World War II, and return it to Germany.

When I read this book, I had no idea that it was a part of a series (it is book two in The Guardian Series) and was completely able to follow along. I really enjoyed reading this book, and especially liked the strong female lead. Now that I know there are two other books in the series, I will for sure be going back and reading them. I greatly enjoyed Robards’ style of writing, how she stats with a story, giving good background for the rest of the book. I also quite liked how each sentence was so well thought out, and worded precisely to pull you in, but never giving away any information about what’s to come. The first sentence of each chapter was so strong and compelling you couldn’t stop reading even if you wanted to. You probably should read the first book in the series before you read this one, but I guess as we’ve found out by accident, it is not a must. 3.5/5

The best part of this book was reading about how the "heists" were planned and carried out In European capitals that I fortunately had been familiar with. Characters are likable and writing style is acceptable. Easy to scan paragraphs for the action related adventures and skip over the relationship descriptions. Most likely written with female readers in mind as main character is a strong female who is very capable of thinking situations through on her own, defending herself, being courageous, and knowing how to use a variety of ingenious James Bond type contraptions while wearing devious apparel. A light read.

If a male character can be a genetically-enhanced super soldier, why not a woman? Not only that, but she is an assassin, an international jewel thief, has friends in convenient criminal places, and saves neighborhood teens from gang kidnappings.

Yes, the heroine is many things, has many identities and has the CIA and other international assassins on her trail.

If you enjoy James Bond, but think the Fleming books are a little too slow-moving for your tastes and would be better if the Bond girls were the heroines, this book will be right up your alley. It is a quick read and the action, albeit way over the top, is non-stop.

very disappointing. had to make myself finish it. and then the ending is VERY anti-climatic. In fact i was wondering what the whole point of the book was.
