"What's Really Happening to Our Planet?" uses a graphic approach to chart the dramatic explosion of the human population and consumption and its impact on the planet. Based on unmatched scientific data, "What's Really Happening to Our Planet?" brings together major areas of public concern, such as deforestation, climate change, water shortages, and inequality. Easy-to-reference charts and infographics illustrate key findings, while clear, jargon-free text explains the science behind the figures. In addition to charting global trends and showing how they are connected, this book articulates how we can live more sustainably in the future. From Publisher

In fact, the fastest way to transfer info is often graphically. The instant I saw that the first graph was on Population Growth, I knew this book was on the right track. Sorry for the reader who 'lost confidence in the writer.' Was your problem that you just hit overload? Read a little at a time, and not every graph will appeal to your interests. While there may not be a specific Y-Axis on every graph (in the form you prefer), the numbers you want are always available as you study the graph. Don't give up on this book - you won't find more info in any single source.

BTW - I've already bought three copies of this book to give to friends.

Excellent Book Five Stars (or more)

If you're keen to find ways to minimise your impact on the planet, this book is full of practical tips.

This graphical presentation of the many threats to the planet is, at first, engaging, but then rather numbing as it goes on relentlessly for 200 pages. Why do so many graphs show exponential growth? What can we infer from a graph that has no Y-axis scale? The message is clear that we have to live within the natural limits of planet Earth ... but, in the end, I didn't have confidence in the author's recommendations.
