Black Out is a fantastic novel about two teenagers caught in a struggle of chaos and order. The new virus that has been introduced into society has caused ramifications for those trying to live an already hard life, such as Aubrey and Jack. Every victim of the Erebus Virus that is a teenager has discovered supernatural powers beyond the explanations of science.
This book has a very interesting topic and presents a pretty straightforward problem, everyone, I mean EVERYONE is afraid of teens with these strange abilities. It gives a sense of hopelessness as the main characters are subject to being used countlessly and mercilessly by people on both sides of the equation.
Pretty interesting that Black Out suggests that through genetic manipulation or editing or whatever the virus did, humans can achieve things that were the primarily the subject of fantasies, dreams, and comics. Or, what if this virus is out of this world, not following any law physics can produce or perhaps it is extra-dimensional.

Great book, can I have some info on the sequel

I really liked this book except it leaves you confused for the most part. You really have to try to figure things out. Plus, there is the biggest cliff hanger at the end. I am glad there's going to be a sequel. An great book, but you aren't really being told much about what is happening outside of the main characters.

HORRIBLE............. Warning!!! do not get sucked into reading this book unless you're fully prepared to read two or three additional books along a similar topic that is slightly interesting but doesn't go anywhere. Teens are supposedly horribly infected with this virus/disease that gives them awesome, cool and somewhat amazing powers. I decided to give this author a second chance. i had read another book of his that was along the same lines, and guess what? He did the same thing! He got you going on a somewhat interesting topic and then didn't go anywhere. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! By the way........... the biggest fantasy was not the fact that they had super powers, but that ALLL OF THE TEENS LISTENED TO ADULTS IN AUTHORITY POSITIONS! Without even rebelling. Wow. That's a truly imaginary story.
