Summary
Add a SummaryShattered is a fast paced adventure that takes you from Alaska to British Columbia to California and back again. The action keeps going right to the end.
Reef McKenna is a snowboarder who has returned to his hometown for a competition. He stumbles into his sisters' house in the middle of the night covered in blood and is shortly thereafter arrested for murder. It looks like a cut and dried case but his family, especially his sister Piper, are determined to find the truth.
This is book 2 in the Alaskan Courage Series and I look forward to reading the next one. I read this book without reading the first, Submerged, and I was able to keep up with the storyline and characters without a problem. I really enjoyed the dynamics of this close knit family and definitely plan to go back and read the first book, Submerged.
I received this ebook from Bethany House Publishers for the purpose of an honest review. My opinion is my own. Thank you Bethany House.

Add a CommentDani Pettrey has done it again! Shattered is a wonderful story filled with adventure, redemption, and love. Because of Pettrey's masterful dialogue and consistency in character development, Piper and Landon are two characters readers will fall in love with. Whether surviving avalanches or teasing each other high in the sky, Shattered is well worth staying up until midnight to read.
I have now read the first 2 books in the Alaskan Courage series. I enjoyed both of them. The principle characters remind me of the ones in Karen Kingsbury's novels. In both cases, the principles are in emotional upheaval throughout the story over loving someone or being loved by someone and feeling unworthy. Feelings of unworthiness coming from past mistakes.
Excellent series! Can't wait for the final one.
