One of the strongest and most entertaining mafia movies out there. Joe Pesci knocks it out of the park as the psychopathic Tommy DeVito.

Very good movie, I found it to be somewhat factual. The behavior and traditions of these gangsters were developed over the years made them feel like they could get by with anything. However the RICO ACT passed in 1970 came along and changed everything. If you want to learn more about the ACT and the effects it had on the criminals just google the RICO ACT and you will learn and understand a lot about this movie. And you will learn the advantages to a prisoner who will co-operate with the authorities.

The best gangster film ever made. The sequel to this, Casino, is the second best gangster movie ever made.

Co-written and directed by Martin Scorsese in 1990 adapted from the 1985 non-fiction book "Wiseguy" by Nicholas Pileggi, this crime drama depicts the rise and fall of mob associate Henry Hill and his friends and family from 1955 to 1980.
Although I don't like the story of an organized crime, it turns out a good entertaining piece with good performences of the major actors.

I am frankly surprised by the 5 store reviews. This doesn't even come close to The Godfather. What is impressive: the director chose actors with Italian surnames to play Italians. Excessive profanity, so if you are offended by that, be warned.

"Funny, like I'm a clown? I amuse you?"

The film has such a deep influence on modern pop culture that question comes up of what to think of the original story with all of its twists and turns. Fortunately, Martin Scorsese's phenomenal picture holds up quite well even after years and years. It's ultimately a complicated piece about the conflicting nature of ambition and loyalty that shows the gangster life warts-and-all, the glories from celebrating a great score interspersed with the paranoia and pointless anger. Joe Pesci, Ray Liotta, and Robert De Niro all do fantastic jobs in their performances. Some movies regarded as 'classic cinema' don't age well at all, but this film merits watching again and again. The special features that take a long, detailed look at how tricky adapting the real-life stories ended up being are fascinating as well.
