I've read all of his books, but find the most recent ones no longer that funny. I believe Stormy Weather is the best of them. It reminds me of the cruise port of St. Bart's where my mother and I took a very awkward tour of the disaster area which had just been hit by 3 successive hurricanes.
One of the best Hiassens I've read. Recommended if you like it raunchy and fun sometimes. Ahem.
Funny, like most of Carl Hiaasen's work. I liked the characters in this book a lot.
Hiaasen's best combining tourist stupidity, insurance fraud, shady characters of all sorts, foolish people, and, best of all, Skink. This book takes place in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew when southeast Florida was flattened. A couple who are supposed to be on their Disney honeymoon set out to videotape some of the damage. With that simple notion, things take off and rapidly get completely out of hand.
