This was a refreshing children's novel. The book is a combination of Narnia, The Golden Compass, and The Secret Garden. I definitely recommend it.

SHE WRITES A DOOR OF BLOOD AND SILVER. THE DOOR OPENS JUST FOR HER Rating this book was challenging for me. Here are five reasons I awarded this one all the stars: 🌟The first line and the last line are poetically balanced. My linear…

Absolutely magical, and one of my top reads of 2022. There are doors between worlds, and only a few people who know how to open them. A story a magic, love ... and maybe a vampire?

This fantasy novel took me on quite the adventure. It took awhile for the entire premise to be revealed, but it was a great ride once I understood what was happening.

I liked it!

I almost liked this book. The writing style didn't bother me, in fact I liked her little references to literal writing and the shapes of letters. It was fanciful and fit the theme. I was more put off by the overuse of plot devices (ie, oh,…

Wow. Talk about choosing the right book for your first fantastical read! I chose this book solely on the arresting beauty of the cover...it was too gorgeous to pass up. So glad I opened the pages. A terrific story!

Beautiful story, though it was slow in the beginning and a little hard to get into. Definitely one I would want to purchase so that I could read again and again, which is very rare for me

I didn't end up finishing this book. It was interesting and whimsical. It reminded me of The Golden Compass series in that it creates an alternate reality. However, I enjoyed the Golden Compass more. What I didn't like so much about this…

Solid 3 1/2 star book. "I liked it". YA protagonist separated from parents with latent powers manifesting, but will it be enough against the forces arrayed against her and her plucky companions? We know the story. But it's in the…

Well written prose, interesting characters, and above all--unique! I love the twists and turns this book takes as the plot progresses. Interesting ending, too!

I did enjoy the fiction-fantasy hybrid of this novel, the concept and storyline were hard to put down. The characters and mystery of the novel were difficult to support as the twists & mystery were easily spotted. I take issue with…

"I hope you will find the cracks in the world and wedge them wider, so the light of other suns shines through; I hope you will keep the world unruly, messy, full of strange magics; I hope you will run through every open Door and tell…

One of the best books I’ve read in a long time! Transported me to other worlds.

Apart from the fact that I felt a terrible jealousy of January and her ability to open doors to other worlds (an ability I truly could have used a time or two), I loved this book! It's complicated, engaging, thoughtful, emotional, and…

A fine, romantic fantasy as well as a tale of a young woman finding her strength, with a good dose of social commentary.

Reminiscent of The Night Circus, albeit not as dark.

I am completely amazed that the author was so successful in her endeavors. Given where the plot goes it is so appropriate that hard hearted people would be turned off and walk away. I am not an easy person to please, but this book was fun,…

The writing. 🤮 So flowery, so saccharine, so ... aware of itself. The premise is strong, but the delivery is hot garbage. I'm almost embarrassed that I read it.

Ten Thousand Doors of January is a really wonderful book. Reading it is like peaking behind a curtain to magical and mystical worlds that are both ordinary and spectacular. This book will be as special as you let it. If you know what I…

Exciting premise. Beautiful cover. Disappointingly small story. You promised us TEN THOUSAND DOORS Ms. Harrow. Ten thousand! This read more like a beautifully worded, extended origin story instead of the epic trek across worlds that it…
